Educated at Stonyhurst college, Lancashire followed by a brief endeavour to study Landscape architecture in Gloucester.

• 1985 I started wittelling small wooden treasures and inherited my Grandmothers extensive wood carving chisels.

• 1987 Changed from designing landscapes to being apprentice cabinet maker at Rob Ellwoods cabinet workshop in Micklethwaite on Ilkley Moore, West yorkshire.

• 1990 Moved to my ancestral home of York working as a cabinet maker and antique restorer.

• 1992 Took the plunge and set up my own making furniture business.

• 1992 to the present day still enjoying a rich and diverse set of challenging projects.
